Description
A brake pad is a key component in a vehicle's disc brake system, placed inside the caliper. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure pushes the caliper piston to squeeze the brake pad against the disc (rotor) on both sides, generating friction. This friction converts the vehicle's kinetic energy into heat, slowing down or stopping the car. Brake pads are made from various materials such as semi-metallic, ceramic, and low-metallic compounds, offering durability and consistent braking performance. Since brake pads wear out over time, regular inspection and timely replacement are essential for safe driving.
